NATHAN NORVEL CROWE

Nathan Norvel Crowe, a Vietnam Veteran of Slidell, Louisiana, died peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at the age of 73. He was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, born on July 9, 1949.
For family, friends and loved ones seeking information about arrangements, Nathan completed his arrangements many years ago as a nine-year old boy when he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior with the guidance of his mother, Valerie. Because of the sacrifice by Jesus Christ, Nathan is more alive now and will live forever with our Creator. His prayer is that everyone reading this will make the same arrangement.
A memorial service will take place at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell on Tuesday, April 25 at 11 a.m. Pastor Randy Boyett of Thompson Road Baptist Church will officiate.
Nathan is survived by brothers, A.G. Crowe (Linda), Ben Crowe (Kathy) and sisters, Sharon Crowe Lambert (Victor), Anita Crowe Yarbrough (Charles) and Lois Crowe, stepson Ron Brister, cherished nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
Nathan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Merle Marie Crowe and his parents, Valarie Marie Schilling and Almond G. Crowe, Sr., and Gary Crowe, brother.
Nathan’s most challenging time in his life was as an Army sergeant stationed in Vietnam assigned to the mortuary division. He witnessed and dealt with the most devasting side of war. After obtaining a degree from Commonwealth College, he spent many years in the funeral services business assisting countless numbers of families helping them through their most difficult times. His passion in life was to make sure Veterans from the Vietnam war received the honor and respect they earned and deserved.
A final message for all of Nathan’s family, friends and loved ones is his most cherished prayer, that all of us will be together again with our Lord Jesus Christ and Savior.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends are encouraged to support “STARC For Life” serving special needs citizens. Visit https://www.starcla.org for details.
