LUCILLE MAE GRACE ROGERS PIPPIN
Lucille Mae Grace Rogers Pippin, aged 86, peacefully departed this life in her residence on March 1, 2025. She was born on November 2, 1938, in Crowley, Louisiana, to Frenchie and Maude Rogers, as one of eight siblings. Lucille entered into matrimony with Walter Pippin in August 1960; he preceded her in death in 2012. She was a devoted mother to four children: Cheryl Pippin Jackson (Bruce), Michael Pippin, Linda Pippin Mattern, and Shannon Pippin (Tabatha). Additionally, she was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Tommy, Brandon, Shannah, Alisha, Bradden, Brendon, Olivia, and Aiden. Lucille also had six blended grandchildren: Bruce Jr., Brandon, Jessica, Courtney, Blake, and Carlos, alongside five great-grandchildren: Sophia, Max, Landon, Levi, and Mason.
Lucille was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, possessing a deep love for the gospel and her Lord, Jesus Christ. She dedicated herself to teaching Primary, cherishing the opportunity to impart the teachings of Jesus Christ, His love for them, and the love she held for the children.
A notable chapter in Lucille’s life unfolded when she and her husband relocated to St. John, US Virgin Islands, where they resided for twelve years. She appreciated the climate, the culture, and, above all, the community. Lucille received the honor of being nominated Mrs. St. John USVI, a distinction of which she was particularly proud. While residing on the islands, she dispensed warmth to all, meeting dignitaries, celebrities, athletes, and vacationers from across the globe. Lucille thrived in her role at a boutique store, fueled by her enduring passion for style and fashion, particularly her fondness for dresses, scarves, and hats.
In 2004, Lucille and Walter returned home, where she relished reconnecting with her family after an extended absence. She enjoyed playing board games, listening to opera, and visiting museums with her loved ones.
For the last four years, Lucille resided with her daughter Cheryl, her son-in-law Bruce Jackson, and their cherished family dog, Chloe. She thoroughly enjoyed her time spent working alongside them at La Diamond and Jewelry where she welcomed customers and formed lifelong friendships filled with laughter and joy.
Friends and family are cordially invited to attend visitation on Saturday, March 15, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a memorial service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 112 Rue Esplanade, Slidell.
