Richard “Ricky” Michael Randall Sentell passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014.
He was 20 years old.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Slidell, and a former student at Northshore High School.
Sentell is survived by his parents/grandparents, Richard Ducote Jr. and Dana White Ducote; mother, Stacey Ribando; step-dad, Michael Ribando; brothers, Michael and Alexander Ribondo; grandparents, Betty Ribondo and Reese Howell; niece, Milley Smith and Ben Smith; uncle, Rick White; sister, Lindsey Sentell Smith; and brother-in-law, Joshua Smith. He is also survived by best friends, Brooke Coates and Kristen Valle “Chippy.”
He is preceded in death by grandparents, D.J. and Evelyn White.
Funeral services were held on June 7 at First Baptist Church, Slidell.

Georgia L Fortenberry Williams passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Valley View Nursing Home in Marksville.
She was born October 30, 1926, at home in Jefferson County Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph H. Fortenberry; mother, Ruby L. Myers; husband, Milton M. Williams; sons, Milton M. Williams Jr., Clyde H. Williams, and Billy Ray Williams; brothers, Jeff E. Fortenberry, Joseph H. Fortenberry Jr., and Truett Fortenberry; and sisters, Mary L. McDonald, Christine Campbell, Patricia Emerson and Thelma Fortenberry.
She is survived by four grandchildren, Mark Williams, David Williams, Renee Tassin and Paula Holder; great-grandchildren, Logan Williams, Noah Williams, Karsen Grace Williams, Ella Claire Williams, Jason Tassin, Stephanie Tassin, Tyler Holder, Dylan Holder and Kacey Holder; brothers, James M Fortenberry and wife Mary of Prospect TN., and Isaac C. Fortenberry of Baton Rouge; sisters, Helen Bullard of Marksville, La., Clara Saucier of Pearl River, Geraldine Love and husband James of Jena La.
Funeral services were held at Williams Funeral Home in Pearl River on June 9.

Harry David Welch, of Slidell, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014.
He was 79 years old.
Welch was a native of East Montpelier Vermont.
He is preceeded in death by his wife, Joan; parents, Harry and Devota Welch; and sisters, Devota Doten, and Dorothy Shay.
He is survived by daughters, Courtney Schmalz and Eden Welch; grandchildren Taylor Welch and Madison Knox; and sister, Lennie Dickson.
Services were held on June 6 at Biloxi National Cemetery.

Leona Henley McQueen, of Pearl River, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014.
She was 93 years old.
She was born to Ilos and Henrietta Henley.
She is survived by sons, Carl and David McQueen; granddaughter, Denise Walker; brother, Luther Henley; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and five great-great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence McQueen; daughter and son-in-law, Rosalie and Buster; son, Claude Daniel McQueen; daughter-in-law, Ruby McQueen; two granddaughters; one grandson; sisters, Bertha Bennett, Alma Bond, and Lucy Fleming; and brothers, Wilbur and Oather Henley and Johnny Thigpen.
She worked for St. Tammany Parish School Board at Pearl River Jr. High from 1950-1986 in the Cafeteria. She also worked 10 years reading the River Gauge for the Pearl River.
Funeral services were held on June 6 at D.T. Williams Funeral Home located at 67525 Hwy. 41, Pearl River.

Kaylee Elisabeth Sharp, of Bush, La., passed away on Sunday. June 1, 2014.
She was 10 years old.
She was the daughter of Tracy W. McLain, husband Dustin D. McLain of Bush, La., and Jason E. Sharp Jr., wife Racheal Sharp of Pearl River.
She was the big sister of Brennan Mike’ll Sharp.
She was the granddaughter of the late Melvin J. Woods Jr., and Nedra M. Dumestre Woods, Jason E. Sharp, wife Chrisinda Sharp, Tonia Smith Crockette, husband Robert Crockette, Donald E. McLain and Kety King Neese; great-granddaughter of Robert and Nancye Dumestre, the late Melvin Woods Sr. and Lorraine Woods, Rufus Sharp and Marcelette Sharp, Patsy Smith and the late Bernard Smith.
Funeral services were held on June 7 at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell.

Alfred Joseh Kidder, of Slidell, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014.
He was 60 years old.
He was the father of Troy Kidder (Aimee), and Thomas Kidder.
He is survived by grandchildren, Arabella Kidder, Silas Kidder; and his longtime girlfriend, Marion Lee.
He was retired from Exxon-Mobil Chalmette Refinery, and a former resident of St. Bernard Parish.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral Mass at St. Genevieve Catholic Church, 58203 Hwy 433, Slidell, on Saturday, June 14 at 11 a.m.

Jeffrey Wayne Cummings, of Pearl River, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014.
He was 45 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Polk Cummings; sons, Corey Cummings, Luke Cummings (Raquel), and Adam Rohrs; daughter, Caitlin Couthen (Kevin); and mother, Margaret Wheeler.
Cummings is also survived by brother, Earl Leslie Wheeler Jr. (Julie); sisters, Robin Osborne (Mark), Judy Mertel, and Kimberly Leo (Kevin); and grandchildren, Braylie and Tyler.
He is preceded in death by his father, Earl Wheeler.
Funeral services were held at D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Hwy. 41, Pearl River, on June 18.

Anna Marie McClung Beaudoin passed away peacefully in her home with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 11, 2014.
She was 100 years old.
She succeded three husbands, Howard Thomas Gray, Pete Prim, Joseph “Curly” Beaudoin, and her companion of 32 years, Herb “Paw Paw Herb” Sires.
Beaudoin was the mother of children, Annie Joyce Gray Matherne, Bobby Carol Gray, Thomas Belton Gray, Sandy Sires, and the late Herb Sires Jr. She was the sister of M.B. McClung, Pearlie Adams, Ruby Chitry, and the late Billy Bailey, and Earlie Garrison.
She was the grandmother of nine grandchildren, Rene A. Matherne, Debra A. Matherne, Gretchen M. Matherne, Randall S. Gray, Victor H. Gray, Bobby Carol “Butch” Gray Jr., Tammy S. Durgin, Lisa M. Hance, Sandra K. Fortheringham, and Thomas Belton Gray Jr.; and great-grandmother of eight.
She was a native and lifelong resident of Slidell until Katrina when she then resided in Hahnville, La., with her daughter, Annie Joyce Gray Matherne.
Funeral services were held on June 17 at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell.

Charles “Mike’’ McGovern III, of Lacombe, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014.
He was 66 years old.
He was the father of Stacy M. Cointment (Clint) and Patty M. Traylor (Shane); son of Dolly St. Amant McGovern and the late Charles M. McGovern II; brother of Betsy Ann McGovern and grandfather of Trevin, Shelby Traylor and Kamren Rodriguez.
He is also survived by several other relatives, Angele Smith, Megan and Frank Pitts, Amy and Eric Thomas, Kaitlyn Bordelon, Jourdan Thomas, and Steven L. Colombel; and friends, Terry Galloway, Michael Burke, Mark Arnett, Pat Burke, Mickey Carroll, Pat Dempsy, Emile Meilleur, Tom Miller, Terry Sauls, and his other fellow comrades at the VFW Post.
He was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Lacombe. He served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, where he was awarded a Bronze Star.
He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 8290.
Funeral services were held at the V.F.W. Post 8290, 28000 Main St., Lacombe, on June 17.

Richard “Ed” Edward Singletary passed away at home on Thursday, June 12, 2014, with his loved ones by his side.
He was 94 years old.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Emilda Rayburn Singletary; daughters, Sharon Menne, Pat Sanders, and Gay Nell Williams (Wayne); a dear family friend, Robert Fowler; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Singletary is preceded in death by his parents, Levi and Abilene Bowman Singletary; brother, Wilford Singletary; and sister, Vernice Singletary Rayburn.
He served in World War II in the Army, Technician Fifth Grade Company “A” 324th Engineers Battalion from June 12, 1942 to October 3, 1945. He was discharged honorably and received the Silver Star Medal, EAMETO Medal, and Good Conduct Medal, and served in Rhineland, Central Europe, Normandy, and Northern France.
He was active in the VFW Post 5174 service as Post Commander, Quarter Master, and Board of Trustees.
Funeral services were held on June 17 from the chapel of D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Hwy. 41 Pearl River.
Brother Orean Spence officiated.

Wilma Rita Simoneaux Blanc, of Lacombe, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Slidell Memorial Hospital.
She was 69 years old.
She was the wife of Daniel A. Blanc Sr.; mother of Patrick Ansley, Sean Ansley, Darren Ansley, Erin Ansley Miguez, Kathleen Ansley, Tiffany Blanc, and Danial A. Blanc Jr.; daughter of the late Wilbert and Jeanette Simoneaux; and sister of Janell Simoneaux, Beatrice S. Hebert, Wilbert Simoneaux, Myrtle Simoneaux, and the late Loretta S. Wall.
She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
A native of Jeanerette, Louisiana, Blanc was a former resident of New Orleans and Metairie, and a resident of Lacombe for over 25 years.
A graveside service will be held at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie on Saturday, June 21 at 10 a.m.

Valerie Seale Monahan Bowser, of Slidell, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014.
She was 61 years old.
She was the wife of Kyle David Bowser; mother of Ryan Monahan, and the late Keegan Monahan; and daughter of Charles and Janet Seale.
Born in Picayune, Ms., and a longtime resident of Slidell, she retired from the St. Tammany Parish School System after over 30 years of service. She was a graduate of the University of Alabama with a Master’s Degree in psychology.
Bowser was an active member of Tammany Yacht Club, she served as House Committee Chairman and was a former President of the First Mates. She worked as a personal trainer for Cross Gates Family Fitness for over 15 years.
A memorial service was held at Christ Episcopal Church, in Slidell on June 4.

Eric Paul “Pee Wee”?Fabre, of Slidell, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014.
He was 20 years old.
He was the son of Milisa Hubbard (Sonny) and Jack Fabre (Michelle); brother of Blake Fabre (Brittany) and Allie Hubbard; and step-brother of Megan Balladares and Raymond Balladares.
He is also survived by his fiancé, Taylor Tycer; grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Fabre was a native of Slidell and a graduate of Northshore High School. He was a senior at LSU where he was enrolled in the Wildlife and Fisheries Federal Program.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral Mass at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd., Slidell, on Tuesday, July 24 at 6 p.m.

Glynn A. Fairburn, of Slidell, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014.
He was 88 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Allen Fairburn and Leah Marie Berthelot Fairburn; and brother, Curtis B. Fairburn.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years and Slidell High sweetheart, Eloise.
He is also survived by children, Karen Taylor, Keith Fairburn (Janet), and Kim Steed (Wayne); four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Fairburn was born in Livingston, La. and lived there until his early teens. In Slidell, he attended junior high and high school until graduating in 1944. Then he was drafted into the Marine Corps, trained in California, and sent to the Pacific Theater to join the new Sixth Division. The Sixth Division landed at Okinawa on April 1, 1945 and fought the battle to its end.
He was wounded, recovered, and then sent to Guadalcanal. The second atomic bomb was dropped on Japan and the war was over. The Sixth Division and other forces landed in Honshu, Japan on August 30, 1945 for Occupation. The Sixth Division was then disbanded.
When the new Slidell High School was built and its students were moved, the old school became Slidell Jr. High. Fairburn had just earned his M. Ed. at LSU. He was chosen to become the new principal at Slidell Jr. High. He later became a Supervisor of Upper Education and Vocational and Textbooks in St. Tammany Parish until retirement on September 30, 1972.
There will be a military committal for Fairburn at the new Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery on, Monday, June 30 at 2 p.m.
The family prefers that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Leukemia Society, or to Parkinson’s Society, or to the charity of their choice.

Denny Palazzo, a former resident of Chalmette and Lacombe, and a resident of Diamondhead Ms., for the past eight years, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014.
He was 68 years old.
He was the husband of Sharon W. Palazzo; father of Stacy Hein (John), Stephen Palazzo (Christina), Michael Palazzo (Alicia), Brandi Denn (Gregory), George Haley; son of Lottie Palazzo and the late Angelo Palazzo; and brother of Melanie Schilling, Kevin Palazzo, and the late Richard Palazzo.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on June 24 at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell.

Mildred Terral Allen, a retired registered nurse, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014.
She was 86 years old.
She graduated from Charity Hospital School of Nursing in 1949 and then attended LSU School of Medicine for one year while working full-time at Charity Hospital. Before retiring in 1991, she spent over 30 years working with alcohol and drug abusers.
Allen was a native and lifelong resident of Slidell.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Warren G. Allen; daughters, Renee D. Radabaugh and husband Ron of Delray Beach Florida and Renita S. Woods and husband Eddie of Vicksburg, Mississippi; and stepdaughter, Elizabeth Allen and partner Cynthia Rangel.
She is also survived by five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sister, Yvonne Parks; sister-in-law, Vicki Terral; and brother, James McBride.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rene Emile Terral Sr. and Carol Lee Henley McBride; sisters, Jeanne “Tiny” Parker, Ruby Joyce Taylor, Donna Leah Gauley, and Patricia Ann Ward; and brothers, Rene “Bubby” Emile Terral Jr. and William McBride.
Allen was a member of the Slidell High 50 year club since 1996 and chair-woman since 2007.

Darrell Joseph Spiess Jr., of Bay St. Louis, Ms., passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014.
He was 26 years old.
He is survived by his parents, Buffie and Charles Singletary, and Darrell and Marianne Spiess Sr.; children, Kade and Keaton Spiess; brother, Gavin Pearson; sisters, Stephanie, Victoria, and Macy Singletary; and nieces and nephew, Alexis, Gavin, and Jayley.

Roberta “Bobbie”?C. Smith, of Slidell, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Ochsner Northshore Medical Center in Slidell.
She was 74 years old.
She was the wife of the late Frank M. Smith Sr.; mother of Karen Cook (fiancé Eric), Frank M. Smith Jr, Catherine L. “Mitzie” Ross (Phillip III), Nancy Penton (John III), Russell Smith, Donald Smith (Sabrina), Duane L. Smith (Kat), and the late Sharon Louise Smith; daughter of the late Louis Van Childress and Lucille Antione Childress; and sister of James “Jimmy” Childress, Sharon Keathly, and the late Merna Smith.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was a native of Memphis, Tenn., and a resident of Slidell for the past 32 years. She was a parishioner of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Pearl River.

William Gene Parker Sr., of Slidell, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014.
He was 75 years old.
He is survived by wife, Irma Parker; children, William Parker Jr., Shayne Parker, Christy Bergeron, Dennis Parker “Lil Jamie,”; step-children, whom he loved as his own, Robert Smith III and Karen Ann Smith; brother, Foster Parker Jr. “Jay”; and sisters, Helen Howard and Sharon Garrison.
Parker is also survived by 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Foster Parker Sr. and Blanche Cannady Holland; brother, Dennis Holland; and sister, Dimples Maxine Frost.

Roland Hansen, a resident of Lacombe, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014.
He was 83 years old.
He was the husband of Patricia Lyons Hansen; father of children, Steven Hansen, Kathleen Hansen, Colleen Daigrepont, Glen Hansen, Karen Baker (Guy Baker), Darleen Borst (Graham Borst), and Keven Hansen.
He is preceded in death by his son, Warren Hansen; and daughter, Carmen Hansen.
He has 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Originally from Milwaukee, Wi., Hansen moved to Lacombe in 1976. He served in the Korean War and had a career in real estate. He belonged to St. John of the Cross in Lacombe and was a member in the senior citizen club.

Donald “Duke” Lee Bullock passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014.
Bullock was born on November 21, 1968, in Tylertown, Ms. to the parents of Daniel Lee Bullock and the late Almeta Howard Bullock.
He is survived by Janet Gaines-Bullock; daughters, Ardia Bullock and Alleria Bullock; grandmother, Annie Bell Elzey Howard; father, Daniel Bullock (Terry); brothers, Douglas Bullock (Gizelda) and Dannie Bullock (Deondra); sisters, Greta Bullock Thomas (Norris), Amy Bullock Bedford (Jarvis), Samara Wheat, and Myria Candiff (Marc); uncles, Marcel Howard, Leroy Howard (Betty) and Matthew Bullock; aunts, Stella Bullock Robinson (Emerson), Bobby Bullock Lewis (Phillip), Edna Howard Abrams (Freddie).
He was preceded in death by his mother, Almeta Howard Bullock; and grandparents, Theodore and Genive Bullock and Marshall Howard.

Brenda Louise Barfield, of Lacombe, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014.
She was 53 years old.
She was the mother of Derek Ancalade and Caine Ancalade; daughter of David Barfield and the late Betty May Barfield; and sister of Donald Barfield.
She is also survived by granddaughter, Callie Ancalade.
A native of Panama City, Fla., and a resident of St. Tammany for the past 35 years, she was a landscape architect.

Caroline Schmidt Price passed away peacefully at home in Houston on Sunday, June 22, 2014.
She was 83 years old.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William F. “Nick” Price; parents, William and Ossie Schmidt; and sister, Patricia Ann Schmidt Smith.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Susan Price,; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Price was born in Bridgeport, Okla., and lived all over the world, including Samoa, Panama, Alamogordo, N.M., Ann Arbor, Mich., Decatur, Ark., Slidell, La., and Houston. She moved with her family to Slidell in 1972, where she taught at W.L. Abney Elementary School and lived until Hurricane Katrina. She was a parishioner of St. Genevieve and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic churches.
A graveside service was held on June 26 at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell.

Nickie Cyrus Zanca passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014.
He was 62 years old.
He is survived by his children, Dominic Zanca, Nicholas Zanca, Stephanie Zanca Murray, Tina Zanca, Danielle Zanca and Victoria Zanca; brothers, John Laroux, George Zanca; and sisters, Sandra Benoit and Corane McCraney (Johnny).
Zanca is preceded in death by his parents, Dominick and Gloria Zanca; and sister, Ski Morlas.

Margaret Fleming, of Honey Island Swamp, passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014.
She was 86 years old.
She is survived by her children, Kathy Whitehouse, Phil Slaydon, Judy Fleming, Rickey Slaydon, and Lionell Deese; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Fleming was preceded in death by her parents, Calbert and Lozaine Fleming; and children, William Slaydon, Whitey Slaydon, Ann Deese, and Annette Nugent.
Funeral services were held on June 21 from the chapel of D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Hwy. 41, Pearl River.

Julius Baham Sr., native of Slidell and a World War II veteran, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Irene Robert; and their children, Julius Jr., Barbara, Les, Shirley James, Jane, Bryan and Glenn; and brothers, Poleate and Curtis.
Preceding him in death were parents, Poleate and Albertine; brother, John; and sisters, Inez Lawrence, Theresa Balancier and Dorothy Dines.

Timothy Joseph Songy, of Slidell, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014, in Slidell.
He was 49 years old.
He was the husband of Kimberly Brouillette Songy; father of Gabrielle Songy, Ashley Neugent, Brandon Neugent; son of Joseph and Una Songy; grandson of the late Leopold and Octavie Faucheux, and Luc and Rosine Songy; and brother of Joe Songy (Julie), Sonja Springer (Steve), and Jona Songy.
A native of LaPlace, La. and a resident of Slidell for the past 14 years, he was a parishioner of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, former employee of Exxon Mobil, and employee of Shell/Motiva Enterprise.
A funeral Mass was held on June 18 at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Crossgates Blvd., Slidell.

Kathleen (Kathy) Root passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Root and Bernice Baldwin Root; and sister, Pat Plaisance (Norles).

James “Coonie” William Graves passed away at home with his daughters by his side on Monday, June 16, 2014.
He was 61 years old.
He is survived by daughters, Errin Graves, Casey Graves, and Devin Graves; and grandsons, Kane Mendel, Collin Craddock and Caden Graves.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Hayden Graves Sr. and Hilda Seals Graves; and one grandson, Gage William Graves.

Herta H. Lee., of Slidell, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2014, in Slidell.
She is preceeded in death by her husband, Wilson A. Lee.
She was 86 years old.
She is survived by her special companion, Jerry Sones.
She was the mother of Harry Lee (Rosemary), Richard Lee (Cheryl), James Lee (Katie), and Christine Lee (Vincent).

John “Bud”?Leon Audibert Jr., of Slidell, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014.
He was 84 years old.
He was the husband of Shirley Sauvinet Audibert; father of Ricky Audibert (JoAnn), Mark Audibert (Denise), Peggy Donahue (Ricky), Sondra Wingerter (Phil), John Audibert III (Janie), Scott Audibert (Rhonda) and Darrin Audibert (Dawn); son of the late Marguerite McCallif Audibert and John L. Audibert Sr.; brother of Bernard Audibert, Gill Audibert, Patsy Audibert and the late Leon Audibert; grandfather of 17; and great-grandfather of 12.
He was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Slidell.
He was a member of the International Operating Engineers Local 406 and retired from Boh Brothers after 27 years. He then owned and operated Bud’s Dozer Service.

Max A. Taylor Jr. passed away on Thursday, June 19, 2014.
He was a resident of Slidell for over 35 years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Marshall C. Ferrino.
He is survived in death by his mother, Billie S. Ferrino; brother, Carmen Ferrino; sisters, Marsha Nowell (Ronald), Shannon Favorita (Pete Favorita); nephew, Mason Berryhill; and niece, Kathryn Favorita.
He went to Salmen High School.
He was a chef and loved to create speciality dishes.
His family will hold a Celebration of Life ceremony at a later date.

James Thomas Loper Sr. passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014.
He was 74 years old.
Loper was the husband to his wife of 54 years, Catherine Jane Loper.
He is survived by five children, Debra Ross (Bobby), James Loper Jr. (Susan), Daniel Loper (Marie), Cheryl Harrison (John), and Jennifer Oakes (Shane).
He is preceded in death by his mother, Effe Lee Holifield; father, Henry Allen Loper; and two grandchildren.
He is survived by 10 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by four siblings.
Loper worked for the state of LA in the Forestry division as a Fire Fighter for 30 years and was happily retired. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed being out on the open water in his boat.

Amelia “Me Me” Catherine Davis passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014, at her home.
She was 37 years old.
She was born to the late Frank Davis and Rose Mary Davis.
She was a member of Doughty Chapel A.M.E. Church from birth through her teenage years. She attended school in St. Tammany Parish, and was employed by St. Tammany Parish School Board. She also was a former employee of Winn-Dixie, Southeast Louisiana Hospital and Northshore Behavioral.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Frank Davis Jr., and Clifton Davis (Bootsy); grandparents, Felix and Idel Harrison, and Mary Bell Davis; great-aunt, Alice Crockett and St. Joseph Crockett; and uncle and aunt, Clifford and Margie White.
Davis is survived by nieces, Kalynn Rochelle Wilson (Baton Rouge), Desmond Ty Durce (Lacombe); god-brother, Sidney Ray James (Covington); uncle and aunt, Lucinda and Willie Keller (Covington); and adoptive family, Karen Koenig.

Katharine Nina Anderson passed away on Saturday, July 12, 2014.
Anderson was the daughter of Timothy and Bonnie Adzamoah; sister of Larry Neelis, Kenneth Anderson, Carla Chaput and Tom, Lori Ory and John, Karen Pierce and Phillip, and Jan Nellis; and aunt of Jason, Sara, Joshua A, Jonathan, Jenna, Breck, Zachary, Jacqueline, Natalie, Gabrielle, Emily, Joshua R, Kaitlyn, Kaleb, and Karleigh.

Ala Ruth Morgan Cooley, of Slidell, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014.
She was 96 years old.
She was the wife of the late David E. Cooley Sr.; mother of Dona Anne Foss (Dixon), David E. Cooley Jr. (Natasha), Kathryn Cooley, Jackson M. Cooley (Gretchen) and Linda Latour (Farrell); and sister of the late C.M. Morgan, Helen Morgan and Jackson Morgan.

Jordan Brooks Smith, of St. Tammany, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014, after being fatally injured on duty at Bogue Chitto State Park, where he was employed as an Interpretive Ranger.
He was 28 years old.
He was the son of Virginia “Jeanne” Brooks Smith and the late Macks “Randy” Smith; and grandson of John Alma Brooks and the late Hugh Brooks Sr., and the late Charles and Molly Smith.
He is also survived by an aunt, Teneilia B. Anderson (Don); uncle, Hugh F. Brooks and numerous cousins, including Kim Parker Grubbs (Kerry) and Amanda Brooks Hindson (Jon).
He was a 2003 graduate of Northshore High School, and received an undergraduate degree and graduate degree in Political Science and Applied Sociology from Southeastern La. University.
He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, Jacques de Molay Lodge #389, Shriners International and Past Worshipful Master of Bayou Lacombe Lodge #459.
A city boy who became a park ranger, Jordan read, researched and taught himself the skills he needed to share his wealth of knowledge. He was a true teacher at heart, creating and presenting programs to hundreds of children and adults, both in and out of the park.
He was a hunter education instructor, boating safety education instructor and held certifications in multiple disciplines.
The family wishes to thank the members of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, Marshall Pierre and the many friends who have supported us in this time.

Harry D. Spence, longtime Slidell resident, passed away at his home in Slidell on Saturday, July 12, 2014.
He was 91 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jabe Benjamin Spence and Ella Jenkins Spence; by his wife, Polly; and all 10 of his older brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his children, Michael, Steven, Barbara, Joanne, and Carol; and by 12 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren (with two more due in September).
Spence was born in a railroad camp in Nicholson, Ms. After the family relocated and spent several years at the Southpoint, Louisiana, railroad camp (Orleans Parish) the family moved to Slidell where Spence spent the remainder of his life. A 1940 graduate of Slidell High School, he later served his country in World War II by joining the US Navy in the 76th Construction Battalion (“Seabees”).
Spence served for 2 years in Hawaii, Guam, and later with the Japan Occupational Force in late 1945 (in the 98th Construction Battalion); he was very proud of his service.
Upon arriving back to Slidell, he started his over 40-year career with the Central Louisiana Electric Company (CLECO) as a lineman becoming a well-known and recognized figure around Slidell and Pearl River. In 1952 he found the love of his life with Polly (Pauline) Bird of Lacombe and started a family. Early on Harry and Polly were active in the Kiwanis Club and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) with both serving in a number of positions.
Spence was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church. He also volunteered for many duties and functions including Cub Scout Pack 344 leader and Boy Scout Leader for Troop 344 (First United Methodist Church of Slidell).
In retirement, Spence took up deer hunting, decoy carving, lamp making, and being a regular and active member of G.O.S.H. (Guardians of Slidell History).
A funeral service was held on July 18 at First United Methodist Church, 433 Erlanger St., Slidell.

Patricia Jean McClendon Richardson passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014.
She was 68 years old.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Slidell. Richardson is survived by her children, Misty Richardson Labat (Mark Labat), Christopher Shane Richardson (Susan Richardson), Lisa Richardson Hesson (Rodney Hesson), and Chad Ashley Richardson (Antoinette Richardson).
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, Courtney Lynn Labat, Cameron Sterling Labat, Megan Richardson, Matthew Richardson, Michael Richardson, McKayla Richardson, Olivia Hesson, Corinne Hesson, Lindsey Hesson, Sara Hesson, Catherine Hesson, Chance Richardson, Taylor Richardson, and Kaleb Richardson.
Memorial services will be held at Grace Memorial Baptist Church located on Pearl Acre Road in Slidell, on July 26 at 11 a.m.

Elvira Adrienne Block Gordon (VI) passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Melanie and Louis A. Block; sister, Myrle Block; and husband, Gerard W. Gordon.
She is survived by her daughter, Carole Gordon Gillio; husband, Larry Gillio Sr.; and son, Greg Gordon and his wife Lynn Arnold Gordon.
She is also survived by brothers, Adrian Block, Louis E. (Diggy) Block, Douglas F. Block (Helen), and Horace Block.
She leaves behind her grandchildren, Larry Gillio Jr., Gerry Gillio, Douglas Gillio (Rachel) and Melanie Gordon Dunn (Brian), as well as five great-grandchildren and a host of much loved nieces, nephews, and caring friends.
Elvira was born on June 6, 1913, in New Orleans. She served in the USO during World War II, receiving numerous commendations. She worked for the Federal Government at the Port of Embarkation in New Orleans. She was a homemaker and a resident of Slidell since 1999. She was a devout parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Slidell and a member of the Slidell Republican Women’s Club. She recently celebrated her 101st birthday with friends and family.

He was 81 years old.

Fr. Anton Perkovic passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014, in Covington, La.
He was 92 years old.
Fr. Perkovic was born and baptized on January 7, 1922, in what is now known as the country of Croatia. He was the former pastor and founder of St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Harvey, La. Since his retirement in 1994, he lived in Mandeville, La. and often concelebrated Mass at Our Lady of the Lake Church.

Arthur J. “Sonny” Hidalgo III passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014, after a courageous battle with leukemia.
He was the husband of Paula R. Hidalgo; brother of William Henry Hidalgo (Judy); and the son of the late Arthur J. Hidalgo II and Anita Irene Hidalgo.

She was 60 years old.

Dudley J. Craddock passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014.
He was 83 years old.
He was a former truck driver and was a Veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving in the Korean Conflict.
Craddock is survived by children, Deborah Hillhouse Craddock, Donna Blackwell, Timothy Craddock and Dana Craddock; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 1/2 years, Lucille Luther Craddock; a grandchild, Freedom; parents, Adolph and Gertrude Craddock; sister, Jean Craddock Alsobrooks; and brothers, Dennis, Dat and Lindy Craddock.
Funeral services were held on July 22 from the chapel of D.T. Williams Funeral Home, Pearl River.

Leslie Sheryl Waller passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014.
She was 51 years old.
She is survived by her parents, Alvin and Shirley Waller; brothers, Lee Waller (Tana) and Brian Waller; and sister, Suzanne Kyzar.
Waller is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, Stephanie, Kendall, Andrew, Haylee, Jonathan, Joshua, and Caleb.

Leon Wilton Maddox, of Pearl River, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014.
He was 76 years old.
He was the father of Debbie Hughes (Don) and David Maddox (May); son of the late James and Verna Maddox; and brother of Pam Orlander, the late Ronnie Maddox, Darrell Maddox and Barry Maddox.

She was 88 years old.
She was a retired nurses aide at Slidell Memorial Hospital and the mother of two children, Thomas Davidson and the late Carmen Ruiz.

He was 89 years old.

Shirley Neff, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014.
She was 81 years old.
Neff was born on July 2, 1933, on a ranch near Canadian, Texas. She graduated from Amarillo College and worked in accounting at the Louisiana Gas Company in Slidell for over 10 years. She enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters and four great-grandchildren.

Shirley Burkhardt DeMello passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014.
She was 99 years old.

He was 89 years old.
He was the husband of Mary Crenshaw and the late Claire Vahle Alberts by the first marriage; father of Elwood J. George Sidney Menard Sr., a resident of Slidell for 68 years, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014.
He was 76 years old.
He was husband of the late Margaret West Menard for 30 years.
He and Joan Rashid Menard had four children: Pamela Menard Boyd, Denise Menard Dunham, George Sidney Menard Jr. (wife Eileen), and Kevin Francis Menard.
He is also survived by his brother, Robert Louis Menard Sr.; step-daughters, Sloan Halus and Mary Binder; ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Auguste Menard Sr.; brother, Paul Auguste Menard Jr.; sister, Mary Frances Menard Alexander; and granddaughter, Michelle Dunham Burlett.
He graduated from Jesuit High School in New Orleans in 1956 and from the University of Detroit in 1961, where he graduated with honors and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering. He was a member of Pi Tau Sigma National Honorary Mechanical Engineering Fraternity. He received a Master’s degree in Automotive Engineering from the Chrysler Institute and became certified as a Professional Engineer in 1963.
The service and Mass were held at St. Genevieve’s Church in Slidell on August 11.

Robert Scott Neville passed away on Monday, August 11, 2014, at home after a year-long battle with cancer.
He was 60 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Fitz Charles Neville; and their daughter, Laura Neville Bryant, with whom he shared his life and his home, most recently in Pearl River.
Scott had a 34-year career as an instrumentation engineer and member of the faculty at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.
He was born in Wilmington, Delaware to Maynard Neville and Vivien Swaine. He is survived by brother, (Maynard Jr.) Neville.
A service was held to celebrate his life on August 16 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Slidell.

He was 83 years old.

James Stanley Checkan passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014.
He was 86 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Merry Jane Checkan; son, Gregg James Checkan; daughters, Kimberly Jaworski (Andy), Holly Fleck, and Linda Gail Legendre; and sister, Merrilyn Story (Clem).
Checkan was also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was a Navy pilot during World War II, and a graduate of University of Virginia, then employed by Boeing and Martin Marietta.
Family and friends are invited to attend the services at D.T. Williams Funeral Home, 67525 Hwy. 41, Pearl River, on Thursday, August 28.
Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. with the service starting at 2 p.m.
Interment will follow at Hickory Memorial Gardens Cemetery also located in Pearl River, Louisiana.

Gloria Abney passed away peacefully on Monday, August 25, 2014, at her home in Slidell after a long battle with cancer.
She was 67 years old.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin “Donnie” Abney; sons and their respective families, Craig and (Kristin) of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Ashleigh (13), Ryleigh (8), Brayden (5), and Kayleigh (1); Steven and (Kim) of Slidell; granddaughters, Morgan (15) and Bailey (12), and David and (Tanya) of Slidell; grandson, Gunnar (5); and brother, Ivan Berling.
She worked as a Medical Transcriptionist at Howard Clinic for 24 years and as an Office Manager until the onset of her cancer in 2006.
She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church and at Thompson Road Baptist Church where she played the piano and organ.
Funeral services were held at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, on August 27.

James A. Cook Sr., of Slidell, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2014, in Slidell.
He was 91 years old.
He was the husband of the late Verna Cook; father of James A. Cook Jr., Robert A. Cook, Michael J. Cook; step-father of Kenneth LaBorde, Marilyn Willis, Gene LaBorde, Gail LaBorde, Gorden LaBorde, Thomas LaBorde, Henry Morgan and William Morgan; son of the late Andrew and Flora Cook; and brother of the late David Cook and Andrew Cook Jr.
He is also survived by 31 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren.
He was a native of Monroe, La., a former resident of New Orleans, and a resident of Slidell since 1988.
He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, a survivor of Pearl Harbor, and a member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors Association.

Marcel Fabian Singleton, the seventh child of Gertrude “Vivian” and Moses Singleton in Bay St. Louis, Ms., passed away.
He was 85 years old.
He served in the United States Army from 1950-1952. After completing basic training in Tacoma, Washington, he was assigned to Fairbanks Airfield, part of the Alaskan territory prior to statehood. Upon returning to the Mississippi Coast after military duty; he continued his high school education and graduated from Randolph High School in Pass Christian, Mississippi in 1957.
He married Annabelle Brooker and had one son, Marcel Jr. He was employed at Valena C. Jones School as a bus driver and janitor for several years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annabelle Singleton; parents, Vivian and Moses Singleton; brothers, Moses, Marion, Monroe, Milton, Maurice, Maxine Singleton; and sister, Mary Josie Watkins.
He is survived by his sons, Versell (Paula), Marcel Jr., and Ronald Washington (Michele); sister, Mildred Vivian (Ed) Cooper; 18 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was the wife of Stephen Vincent Tesvich Sr. for nearly 50 years; and mother of Stephen Vincent Tesvich Jr., Matthew David Tesvich, and Father Daniel Jonathan Tesvich, S.J.

Daniel James Gerard Hanlon, of Slidell, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014, .
He was 31 years old.
He was the son of John L. Hanlon and Debie Hanlon; and brother of Casey Hanlon and the late Chris “Moose” Hanlon.
He is also survived by his grandmother, Barbara Hanlon, and his girlfriend, Haley Hespen.
Hanlon received his business and marketing degree from Southeastern Louisiana University. Inspired by his brother, he chose to be a teacher and coach. Hanlon got his first job at Pope John Paul II, obtained a degree in education at Holy Cross College, and took on a position in the St. Bernard Parish School System. He eventually got a job at his Alma Mater, Salmen High.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral Mass at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd., Slidell, on Thursday, Sept. 11 at 4 p.m.

Joseph Anthony Schembre, of Slidell, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014.
He was 80 years old.

Pamela Lynn King passed away on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, after a two-year battle with cancer.
She was 55 years old.
She was a teacher’s aide with Slidell High School for 20 plus years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lael King and Delores Corley King.

Andre “Terry” Francois Theriot III passed away on Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, in Slidell.
He was 67 years old.
He was a resident of Mandeville, and was born in New Orleans to the late Andre Francois Jr. and Elmira Madona Theriot.
He is survived by Joan K. Theriot who, upon his mother’s passing when he was a young man, became a second mother to him.
Theriot was the husband of Cynthia Brown Theriot and father of Michael P. Theriot.
He was the step-father of Colette Logan Alonzo (Jonathan) and Nicole Logan Kimble (Chad); brother of Gary Theriot (Karen), Jeffery Theriot (Lisa), and Mark Theriot (Donna); and son-in-law of Henry C. Brown and Mazie D. Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Andre F., Sr. and Alma Theriot.
Theriot was retired as a Captain with the New Orleans Fire Department after 35 years of service.
A graveside memorial was held on Sept. 6 at Mandeville Mausoleum, Mandeville.

Gertrude Elizabeth Jones, of Slidell, passed away on Friday, Sept. 5, 2014, at her granddaughter’s residence.
She was 89 years old.
She was born to Earl James Blair and Ona Mae Blair.
She is survived by her son, Richard Morfeld; and granddaughters, Tawnya Sisco (Nathan), and Carol Hall; grandsons, Rick Stone, Richard J. Morfeld, Charles Wilson, and Cecil A. Stone.

James Richard Woodward passed away on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2014.
He was 61 years old.
He was born to James Jr. and Joyce Clark Woodward.
Woodward accepted Christ at Temple Baptist Church at the age of 12. He was an accomplished pianist and enjoyed singing. He was a retired teacher having worked for the Franklin Parish and St. Bernard Parish School System.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother; brothers, Tommy Woodward of Winnsboro and Jerry Woodward and wife Gay Lynn of Hampton, Ga.; sister, Sandy W. Osborn and husband J. Neal of West Monroe; four nephews, Trey Osborn and wife Shelley, Luke Osborn, Kyle Osborn and wife Leslie and James Brandon Woodward; and great-nieces, Mady Osborn and Abby Osborn.

John Penton Jr., of Pearl River, passed away on Friday, Sept. 26, 2014.
He was 77 years old.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Evelyn Penton; children, John J. Penton III, Pamela Diane Harper, Willard Wyatt Penton, Ervin Dwayne Penton, and Edwin Dwight Penton; brother, Charles Penton; sisters, Betty Learch and Vera Necaise; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was 83 years old.

Mari Joyce Yarborough Lower passed away on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014.
She was 68 years old.
She is survived by husband, Michael Lower; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Scott Powers; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Richard Anderson; grandchildren, Magen Brooks, Cheyenne Brooks, Taylor Anderson, Ty Anderson, Jessica Powers, and Ralph Powers; and great-grandson, Aiden.
Lower was born on February 15, 1946, in Arkansas. She has lived in Greenville, Texas but made her home in Slidell for many years and has resided in Carriere, Ms. since 2005.
A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.

She was 86 years old.

Chandler Jeremy “Donk” Laurent, a lifelong resident of Lacombe, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2014.
He was 26 years old.
He played for several teams, and was ultimately drafted as a pro baseball player by the Colorado Rockies in 2009.

Harold Hambrick, Jr., President of the Los Angeles Black Business Expo (BBX) and the second largest African American-focused consumer show in the country, passed away.
He was 71 years old.
As president of BBX, Hambrick took pride in showing off the history, services and accomplishments of the Black community, which he referred to as “the family.” He promoted the show as a way to introduce “relatives” to each other and to those outside the family. The first black consumer show to run in the Tom Bradley Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center, the annual effort was massive.
Born in New Orleans and raised in Slidell, Hambrick graduated from a segregated high school with 50 classmates. Three days after graduation, he left the state to join his parents and siblings in Los Angeles. Realizing that he wanted to be a part of the developments in Watts, he left a job at IBM in 1967 to join the South Central Multi-Purpose Health Service Center, which later became Watts Health Foundation (WHF), and later Watts Health Systems (WHS). For more than 35 years, he served in several capacities, including Vice President of Public Affairs.
He is survived by wife, Marguerite; children, Jeffrey, Sharon and Tyra; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; and four siblings.
Public visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Harrison Ross Funeral Home, 4601 Crenshaw Blvd., Los Angeles.
“Memorial Remembrances of Harold Hambrick” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., also on Thursday, at Greater Liberty Baptist Church, 6557 S. Western Avenue, Los Angeles. The celebration of life funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17 at Victory Baptist Church, 4802 S. McKinley Avenue, Los Angeles.
The Eulogist will be Rev. Dr. Clyde W. Oden, Jr., Pastor, Bryant Temple A.M.E. Church.
The Officiant will be Rev. Theodore Peters, Harold’s cousin and Pastor of the Greater Liberty Baptist Church.

George Evans Burgess Jr. passed away on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2014, in Atlanta, Ga.
He was 92 years old.
Burgess was born in New Orleans, La., on March 1, 1922.
He graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans, where he met his wife, Lenore. While at college he was heavily involved with acting as well as the Naval ROTC program. Immediately upon graduation he left for the Pacific Fleet and was assigned to a destroyer escort which shipped out in mid-1943.
He and Lenore were married on Treasure Island, San Francisco, Calif. while his warship was briefly back from the Pacific fleet in late 1944, and they remained happily married for the next 65 years.
Upon the conclusion of the war, Burgess remained briefly in California for screen tests with the major Hollywood studios, where he met and spent time with Ronald Reagan.
He was a fully qualified real estate broker and developed Cypress Park sub-division in Lacombe since the late 1950’s. He remained active in local theatre as well, and was heavily involved with Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre as both an actor and on their Board of Directors. He and Lenore lived quietly in their home in Cypress Park for the remainder of their lives.
He is survived by his sons, Michael and George III, as well as seven grandchildren and numerous great grand-children.
Funeral services will be held at the Honaker Funeral Home at 1751 Gause Blvd West, Slidell, on Thursday, Oct. 16 from 2 to 4 p.m. There will be a private burial.
His requests were that in lieu of flowers, that you make donations in his memory to the Republican Party or the Wounded Warriors Project (support.woundedwarriorproject.org/).

Shirley Ann Larson Waller, of Pearl River, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014.
She was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Pearl River, and a retired foreign language teacher for the St. Tammany Parish School Board.

Rosemary Melancon passed away at the Guest House of Slidell on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014.
She was 79 years old.
She was born March 1, 1935, in New Orleans and was 79 years old and a longtime resident of Slidell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Melancon and Maria San Nicholas; and her longtime companion, David Carpenter.
She was a graduate of Warren Easton High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from the University of New Orleans.
Melancon was a champion of mental health education. She received numerous awards as a spokesperson and teacher trainer for the State of Louisiana Office of Human Services Division of Mental Health, the University of New Orleans, East St. Tammany Mental Health Association and Sunshine House.
She is survived by her long term advocates, John and Sally Cool, and the many friends she has accumulated during her ten years residency at the Guest House of Slidell.
A memorial service will be held at the Guest house of Slidell in the near future.

Carol Kelleher Farrell passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014.
She was 76 years old.
She was the wife of James C. Farrell of Slidell.
She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on December 16, 1937, to Eileen and Joseph Kelleher.
She graduated from Anna Maria College in Paxton, Massachusetts with a Bachelor of Arts in education. After her marriage in 1961, she moved to Portland, Connecticut, where she was the past president of the Portland Junior Women’s Club.
In 1970, Farrell and her husband moved to Slidell where she was an active volunteer and involved in many community clubs. Besides being an avid bridge player, she was a Brownie and Girl Scout troop leader, past president of the Florida Avenue P.T.O., a board member of the Slidell Newcomers Club, board member and patron of the Slidell Symphony, former patron of the Slidell Little Theater, member of the Diamondhead and Pinewood Country Clubs, board member of the Slidell Inner Wheel, board member and contributor to Rainbow Child Care, member of the Camellia Club, Bayou Liberty Garden Club, and Pinewood Country Club Garden Club.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; and children, Kathy F. Hogan and husband Ron, Beth F. Miller and husband Patrick, and Michael Farrell and wife Kathy. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Christopher Hogan, Drew Hogan, Layne Miller, Michael Miller, Sean Farrell and Emily Farrell.
In addition, she is survived by her sister, Jeanne K. Cutler, of Worcester, MA.

Keith D’Aunoy, of Slidell, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014, at Slidell Memorial Hospital.
He was 65 years old.
He was the husband of Doris “Dot” D’Aunoy for 48 years; father of Keith D’Aunoy Jr. (Tina G. D’Aunoy), Tracy Smith; son of the late George and Juanita D’Aunoy; brother of Susan D’Aunoy Funck, and the late Diane D’Aunoy.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Kellie D’Aunoy-Jones (Eric), Keith D’Aunoy III, and Alyssa Smith; and great-grandchildren, Zachary D’Aunoy-Jones and Jackson D’Aunoy-Jones.
He was a native of New Orleans, a longtime resident of Metairie, and a resident of Slidell since 2003. he worked in the transportation industry for 30-plus years, and for the past several years has been involved in the boating industry.

He was the son of the late Edith Alder Harsch and George A. Harsch Sr.; and brother of George A. Harsch Jr. (Donita), Sybil C. Travis (Ronald), William A. Harsch and Richard C. Harsch.
He is also survived by a niece, Lisa Marie Harsch; and a nephew, Brent Harsch (Violet).
A native of Buffalo, N.Y. and a longtime resident of Slidell, he was the owner of St. Tammany Transmission.

Alvin August Plaeger, of Slidell and formerly New Orleans, passed away on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014.
He was 92 years old.
He was the husband of Judy Allen Plaeger for the past 50 years; son of the late Frederick A. Plaeger and Ellen Dendenger Plaeger; father of Alvin A. Plaeger Jr. (Mary) and Preston P. Plaeger; and brother of the late Harold, Fred, Howard and Althea Plaeger.
He is also survived by granddaughters, Suzanne, Mitzi and Bridget; and great-grandchildren, Linda Plaeger Howarth, Jean Plaeger Kolb and Carol Plaeger Reed.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the South Pacific aboard the U.S.S. ARD 19. He was a former employee of N.O. Public Service and retired from Pre-Cast Concrete Step Co. in 1984. He was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Slidell and was an avid bowler.
He was priviledged in 2013 to be invited to participate in an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. to visit the WWII Memorial.
Funeral services were held on Nov. 8 at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell.

Deborah Cantrell Leonard, of Slidell, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, after a long battle with muscular dystrophy.
She was 63 years old.
She was the wife of Scott E. Leonard; mother of the late Derek E. Thomas; daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emile A. Cantrell; and granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William B. Cantrell and the late Mr. and Mrs Earnest A. Serio.
She is survived by sister, Lelia C. Manale (Vincent); mother-in-law, Joyce Dummet Leonard; and sister-in-law of Jon (Mary), Rene (Deana) Leonard, Lynn Boudreaux (Jimmy), and Lorna Ammond (Marty).
She was a retired employee of Boasso America Corporation.
A funeral Mass was held on Nov. 8 at Honaker Funeral Home in Slidell.

John Bordelon, a former resident of Slidell, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, in Franklin, Tenn.
He was 76 years old.
Bordelon was preceded in death by his first wife, Loretta Spieler Bordelon (married 43 years); and parents, Wycliff and Mary Bordelon.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Kathleen Matherne Bordelon; children, Yvonne Bordelon, Troy Bordelon, Shawn Nelson, John Bordelon, and Lorne Bordelon; grandchildren, Brad, Amanda, Brittany, Katherine, Olivia, Timothy, John-Michael, and Jack Christian; great-grandchildren, Katie, Mathew, Lucas, and Abbygail; siblings, Richard, Ann, and Kelly; step-daughter, Melinda Flint; and step-grandchildren, Carley and Dawson.

Leo Joseph Williams Jr., a retired equipment operator for National Tea Co., passed away on Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, after a long illness.
He was 72 years old.
He is survived by wife, Carolyn Williams of 53 years; sons, Leo Williams III, (Kim); Kevin Williams; Byron Williams Sr. (Maureen); daughter, Nicole Williams; sisters, Alice Green, (Albert); Rita Wilson, (McArthur); Helena Hebert, (Michael); and brothers, Gerald Williams, (Gwen) and Merlin Williams.
He is survived with 13 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West (in Forest Lawn Cemetery), Slidell, on Monday, Nov. 17 at 11 a.m.
