Joseph Sherwood Mangiapane, Sr., age 81, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
A native of New Orleans, LA, he had a 22-year career in the U.S. Navy after graduating from Southeastern Louisiana University. He spent four years on Navy vessels, transporting forces to Vietnam, achieving the rank of Communications Officer. After leaving the Navy, he served for 18 years in the Naval Reserves with a rank of Commander, besides holding the position of President of the Naval Reserve Assoc.
He also worked as a commercial loan officer, and in his spare time, enjoyed coaching sports before becoming a popular singer at area assisted living facilities.
Robert “Bobby” Preston Trahan, Sr., age 80, of Pearl River, LA, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025.
A native of Kaplan, LA, he lived in Chalmette, LA, before moving to Pearl River after Hurricane Katrina.
He served in the U.S. Navy and later retired from the IBEW Local 130 Electrical Union, where he was a member for 40 years.

Louise Christina, age 87, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025.
Born in New Orleans, LA, she moved to Slidell in 1952 and worked for the state of Louisiana Department of Corrections until she retired.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Slidell.
Richard Cecil Johnson, age 78, of Slidell, LA, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025.
Born in Sugartown, LA, he moved to Pascagoula, MS, after graduating from Broadmore High School in Baton Rouge. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.
He later worked as a construction supervisor, building power plants across the country before retiring to Jasper, AL, and then moving to Pigeon Forge, TN, where he worked at Dollywood.
